Melton Kings Basketball

Providing Basketball in Melton Mowbray since 1973

Melton Kings Basketball was founded in 1973 and is one of the oldest basketball clubs in Leicestershire. 50 years later the club is still going strong providing basketball opportunities to all ages and abilities.

The club started out at the now defunct King Edward VII School, with club founder and then maths teacher Alan Hodgkinson providing coaching at lunch and after school. The historical ties with King Edward VII school are shown today by the club's nickname "Kings".

Today the Club has successful Men's, Women's, Junior's and Inclusive teams, truly showing the club to be an inclusive and welcoming environment.
